Shankar Jalota is a passionate advocate for vitiligo awareness based in London. Diagnosed with vitiligo at the age of fifteen, he spent over six years navigating challenges with self-confidence and self-esteem before fully embracing his condition. Since then, Shankar has dedicated himself to raising awareness and championing inclusivity for those with vitiligo. Collaborating with the charity Changing Faces, Shankar has appeared on platforms like Sky News, BBC Morning Live, and BBC News, and has been featured in *The Daily Telegraph*, *HuffPost*, and other prominent media outlets. As a model for diversity campaigns, his achievements include gracing the cover of the Boots Spring 2022 *Health & Beauty* magazine, where he was celebrated as an influencer breaking beauty boundaries. In addition to his media presence, Shankar has shared his story and offered guidance at events hosted by the Vitiligo Society, inspiring others facing similar struggles. Driven by a vision for greater understanding, he is committed to spreading awareness about vitiligo and other visible differences to the next generation. Shankar firmly believes that educating children early fosters awareness, inclusivity, and acceptance of diversity in all its forms.
